I tried to search for a single letter as I wouldn't know which words to search for, but this seems to be impossible. Anyway... Adding letters Ã¥, ä, and/or ö to a Resource "Name" column, and have this column show up on a Gantt Chart, those names, taken from the Resource window, will not show up. The letters in question are in HTML: å ä ö Just in case they won't show up in the forum. (How about a preview button?) Example: In Resource window, type "Fadäs" as the Resource (long) Name, then, in the Gantt Chart window, create a new Task and show the Resource Name column. Assign the newly created Resource to the newly created Task, and the Resource should not show up. Remove the 'ä' character from the Resource Name, and it should show up. Using version 0.7 on WinXP. For those reading and have an interest, "Fadäs" is a real word. It's Swedish for "minor error". :-) BTW, the program also cannot (AFAICT) export those characters to HTML. All I get is mumbo-jumbo. Any ideas about that? |

# Posted: 13 Nov 2007 17:13:41 - I know that GanttPV can't export Swedish characters to HTML yet, but the main program is supposed to display them. Strange. Perhaps there is a bug with the unicode libraries we are using. Is there anything in the error log? |

Edit: it wasn't _that_ similar. It was a different problem, I couldn't enter intrnational characters in no place at all, now I can, but I have the same issue as Pepi :-S Sorry for the misinfo! |

# Posted: 3 Mar 2008 17:30:49 - Pepi Thank you for pointing out this problem. I have made a correction for the next release of GanttPV. Alexander I was using str() to convert values for display instead of unicode(). I've submitted as fix to svn (#379). Could you confirm that I've gotten it right? |

# Posted: 4 Mar 2008 17:33:30 - Yes. On Windows with v0.8 I was able to see the problem. The name wouldn't display and it put a lot of error messages to the log. I made the change to the "list" processing that the resource names column was using and re-ran the same test. This time it worked. Looking at the code, it appeared that the same change would be required for the new logic you put in, so I added it (but haven't it tested yet). |
